Lipids represent around 70% of the raw materials used in cosmetics.

Lipids and theirs derivatives are used in cosmetic products due of their properties of emollience, emulsification, substantivity and sensoriality.

Lipids, their nutrients and their derivatives form a protective barrier into the skin in order to keep out external elements and also help to keep skin hydrated. Moreover, lipids play a key role on the cutaneous physiology and sensorial acceptance.

Today, societal expectations, rational or not, condition research and development; the “do it yourself” has an impact on formulation and safety.
Naturalness is at the heart of innovation today.

For this second meeting, the lipids & cosmetics congress will propose 2 main topics this year.

Topic 1

Innovation in lipids

Biosourcing and eco conception:
Lipids and micronutrients

Naturalness
Green processes - eco conception
Rare oils / micronutrients
Life cycle analysis
News raw materials

Lipid Formulation:
which strategy for which results?

Emulsion / encapsulation / polymorphism
Impact on cutaneous physiology
Texturing / Sensoriality
Natural preservatives
Antioxidant
